It's surreal seeing how detached from reality Elton John and Leon Russell are as they craft an album together. Toss in Brian Wilson, unable to string together enough words to form a sentence, and you've got 90 minutes far more bizarre than what Cameron Crowe surely set out to film. Elton's benevolence and Leon's boredom make this mostly tedious viewing, but it's a succinct look at how you can either survive and sustain fame or fade from it.
