454. (02 Nov) Coriolanus (2011, Ralph Fiennes)* 62
The film's finest moments all involve Vanessa Redgrave. Her big speech late in the film is a master class in acting that all but assures her a seventh Oscar nod. She works brilliantly with Ralph Fiennes, who brings an extraordinary intensity to the role and turns Shakespeare's play into an action film. It's an updating in the vein of Loncraine's Richard III, only not as good.
