Not even the gimmicky premise of people trapped in a flooded supermarket with a killer shark could make this a winner. Bait's a conventional disaster movie, basically Rob Cohen's Daylight imagined as a creature feature. The characters are unlikable and undeveloped, so it's cathartic enough watching them get eaten alive. Jump scares featuring sharks are predictable, but effective. Though this is clearly made on a budget, it's worth noting the effects, including a tsunami, are not as bad as expected.
