The genre-straddling nature of Kahn's gags inevitably stretches his film too thin. The rapidfire humor and manic energy is infectious, to be sure, but more than a few of the plot detours offer little or no payoff. It's one thing poking fun at Saw, but it's quite another when the film becomes a full-fledged time travel adventure. Kahn never fails to land a joke, even if they're only moderately funny, but this is ultimately more exhausting than enjoyable.
