This haunted house story has some nice touches, but it fizzles out rather quickly. Initially, it's easy to sympathize with Terry O'Quinn as he struggles to understand the spirit residing in his home. Then he becomes romantic with the ghost, which shifts the film's tone from spooky to awkward. Kristy McNichol, playing a neighbor with her own feelings for O'Quinn, is the film's most likable presence.
