111. (13 May) Private Romeo (2012, Alan Brown) 55
There's really no obstacle for the star crossed lovers here since there's no division between the class they belong to at their military school. Nevertheless, this is an intriguing setting for Romeo and Juliet that's made better by rather sublime casting. Matt Doyle's doe-eyed turn is especially irresistible, so intoxicated by first love it's palpable. Alan Brown makes some peculiar artistic choices like characters lip-syncing to songs that are more or less apropos of nothing.
