William Clift doesn't capitalize on the campiness of drag queens reenacting What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, which is insane since there are few films more inherently campy. Spoofing Joan and Bette should be easy, especially with early digs at Mommie Dearest. But Clift's send-up is neither silly nor smart, instead coming across as tiresome and effortful. Matthew Martin does a convincing Bette Davis, at least, and he's a saving grace as this gets increasingly serious and joyless.
