New Movies Watched This Past Week:

Project A - Hey, don't judge me, I'm not done with my Jackie Chan film spree yet! Perhaps I should have turned this into a blog-a-thon or something. Man, that would have been smart *damn*

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - Between this and 2008's The Escapist, which I highly recommend if you haven't seen, I think Rupert Wyatt is definitely on his way to becoming a staple of the directing community at large. This is obviously going to be his first major success, but The Escapist is a damned fine film and shows he can get a lot out of a little.

For your Consideration:

The lovable lug Kaiderman of Man, I Love Films gears up for Rise of the Planet of the Apes by counting down his top five Ape related films. What? No Ed? How dare you insult the LeBlanc that way!

Does the film Bad Teacher go beyond being a bad movie and into the realm of bad morality? That's what Andrew of gManReviews thinks. In all honesty, putting Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake in the film was suspect to begin with.

I wasn't the only one who celebrated my second blog-birthday this past week, as Anna of Defiant Success also swung into the much coveted terrain. Though her blog may date mine by a couple of days, I like to think it's that reason alone that makes her blog better... you know and that she does a movie blog and actually watches movies, weirdo! (just kidding, much love Anna and congratulations)

Unfortunately, not every theater is a shiny, gleaming example of what we wish they were as Big Thoughts From a Small Mind found out recently.

Cinematic Paradox enters the first day of their 16 Day long birthday blogathon with a look at why they love Christopher Nolan. Yeah, you and every other blogger. One of these days I'm going to buy a hate mobile and just cruise around with stickers saying things like "Christopher Nolan is alright I guess" and "The Dark Knight was barely in the top 10 films of its year." You know, because I'm a rebel like that!

Poll Update:
You came, you saw, I think one or two of you voted. Who knew marketing forecasting was so dull?

Results: Will the growing market change Hollywood's 'American' ways?
1. (tie) 3 votes: It already has (on some level, yes) and Definitely, but slower than a turtle out for a daily stroll (admit it, you just voted for this because it had turtles in it)
2. 2 votes: Never, Hollywood is a master of being stuck in the mud (paging haters please report to answer number 2, haters to answer number 2)

New Poll: Do blockbusters trying to setup a sequel before the film is even successful undermine the overall quality of the film?

Movie Soundtrack of the Week:
Hey look, it's Joseph Gordon-Levitt (that's right, I'm not calling him JoGo) with a brief Matthew McConaughey shot! Though of course we all know what this is really all about - the dual combo of Danny Glover's supreme awesomeness in conjunction with the cheese master himself, Randy Edelman.

Have a great Monday everybody!
