Movie Watched This Past Week:

Thor - I have to be honest, when I first heard Anthony Hopkins during the opening narration, the first thought that went through my head was "oh shit, not again!"

Random Thought For The Week:

I've been thinking lately. Why don't all movies transition into Safety Dance during their credit sequence? Honestly, it would be amazing. Imagine The Departed. Matt Damon, bang, Mark Whalberg slides on out. Camera slowly pans up to the dome capital building. Rat begins his slow crawl across the screen and BAM "You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind!" I would cry with joy.

For your Consideration:
Daniel Day Lewis as Linkon? Count me in!

Just in case you were one of the five bloggers on the internet who didn't take part in this blog-a-thon (I know I know, some of you have valid excuses), be sure you check out all the other posts from Andy's A Life in Movies!

Have you been keeping up with Dylan's Ladies of the '90s tournament over at Blog Cabins? If you have then you'd already know that the surprise winner was... ZACHARY LEVI! Wait, no, Dylan already made that joke. Shit. Elizabeth Mitchell's lesbian lover! Booyah! Nice save, Uni. Thank you, I do my best.

Amping themselves up for Thor, Ruth and partner delivered her top 10 Marvel Superhero Scenes over at Flixchatter. In all seriousness, every moment with Stan Lee is a great moment. The rest, eh - they all boil down to moping, fighting, or rawring.

The ladies are back in action with Episode 12 of Some Cast it Hot where they talk about The Fall (among other things). Which of course led to me spending the following three hours on my knees praying for Lee Pace's career to get out of the gutter. Come on Hobbit, make him a star!

Kid in the Front Row has five questions for movie lovers to maul over and share with the world. Nothing complicated, but demonstrably personable.

Poll Update:
Voting is like, so totally awesome.

Results: How often do you frequent your local indie theater
1. 11 votes: A few times a year or as often as I can (I hear yah, and this is where my efforts lie as well)
2. 5 votes: About once a month or so (good on you)
3. 4 votes: Once a week (three cheers for you!)
4. 2 votes: Never. I'm a straight big chain theater goer (shame - local theaters always have the great classics up on the big screen)
5. 1 vote: Hardly ever, not my fashion (it's ok, we'll convert you before long)

New Poll: I've had this talk a lot lately, and so I'm a bit curious. On the whole, how would you rate your opinion of movies that are generally agreed upon to be 'classics'?

Soundtrack of the Week:
On a Miyazaki movie song kick as of late, and I must admit I do absolutely love the sort of peacefulness of his score accompaniments. They're often so playful, mysterious, and yet calming. So sit back and enjoy the theme from Howl's Moving Castle!

Have a great Monday everybody!
