Competent enough survival horror, but there's nothing here that hasn't been seen before. Only a couple false scares are at all effective. Its psychotic characters are mildly intriguing until the film actually explains their motivation, at which point The Helpers gets increasingly sloppy until the ending's more or less unbearable.
