299. (04 Dec) Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984, Charles E. Sellier Jr.) 63

I don't know that I've seen a movie that flashes back so readily to events we've already seen transpire. It's part of the hokey charm in Silent Night, Deadly Night, a film so oblivious it includes a Rocky-inspired montage of the male lead doing menial tasks over several months as a toy store employee. This is deliciously demented horror, above all else, where orphans are forced to witness the murder of not one, but two Santas in under an hour. Carrying the gimmick of a murderous Santa Claus even further than in Tales of the Crypt, this is definitive holiday horror. The psychological torture our lead undergoes before he rampages also makes him more sympathetic than practically any deranged killer in cinema.
