This is for professional scholars of Chagall and not, in any regard, for a layperson. I willfully admit my ignorance of his work and can say definitively now I'm not impressed. In any case, Homage to Chagall is close to impenetrable since it takes such a nonlinear approach to his evolution and inspiration as an artist. Pretentiously spouting Bible verses between montages of his art, even James Mason's spirited, melodramatic narration can't breathe life into this.
