Plainly based on a poorly written play, Rowan Woods makes some attempt to conceal the staginess of the script. He doesn't succeed, making a film that's too shouty and obvious to ever believably capture lower class life. When it's not loud, it's dull to the point of nothingness. The performances are uniformly intense with a sociopathic David Wenham coming off best. Toni Collette, in the most thankless role, makes the slightest impression.
