099. (25 Mar) Kylie Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour 2011 (2011, William Baker & Marcus Viner) 62

Kylie's sincerity when she sings her dance floor anthems and sappy ballads is priceless, but there's obvious humor in her literal approaches to her songs. At her silliest, she rides a winged, well-muscled dancer around the auditorium in "Looking for an Angel." For the most part, she’s mixing wackiness with sexiness. Though she's rarely in anything that's not modestly Grecian in inspiration, there's an S&M vibe in much of the men's costuming. Whether they're flying her around or pulling her carriage like horses, it's hard to imagine anyone objectifying the male form without it seeming completely devious. Most of the numbers are disposable, despite their delightful melodies, but a mash-up of "Love at First Sight" and "Can't Beat the Feeling" is quite strong.
