After the Axe is rather peculiar Documentary Feature nominee since this is a docudrama, at best. Following a fired executive on his search for a new job, there are some totally bizarre interludes. While it makes sense to see him preparing for job interviews and lowering his standards for new positions, there are scenes here like an extended locker room sequence where he and his gym buddies shower and hang out in towels. Oh, the 1980s.
