This adaptation of a rather bad stage play never feels particularly cinematic except for when it veers into softcore territory. A gay man seducing a married straight man is definitely a porn plot and those scenes play sordidly enough. But this tries to have grander themes about fidelity and friendship. A subplot involving an HIV-positive transvestite with a fatal brain condition more or less derails the entire film.
