Discernibly a first feature, Rock Haven's clumsy religious theme fundamentally prevents the film from being sexy. Whatever sexual tension there's intended to be feels uncomfortable and wrong, which could've been played out well if it emphasized the forbidden nature of this love affair. Instead, it's awkward, made worse by Sean Hoagland and Owen Alabado's lacking chemistry. The scenes where David Lewis appears as a pastor are downright bad.
