The Caller is one of the strangest horror movies in recent memory, making phone calls from the distant past into something somehow terrifying. The time travel aspect would be silly if the film wasted time convincing the audience the calls are authentically from 1979. Instead, it plunges right into the creepiness of a psychotic stranger being able to alter the future. This may be a little too slow-burning and features a distracting, unnecessary performance from Stephen Moyer to work completely. Nevertheless, the finale is as fun as it is shocking.
