Robert Vaughn made this immediately before getting nominated for an Oscar for The Young Philadelphians. While he's solid in the latter film, he is so bizarrely earnest that there's really not a moment of credibility in his whole performance. Also, everyone else has a muscular physique while Vaughn looks sad and skinny.
